I am a very lucky girl as I was born with a passion for horses and that passion continues to this day. I can't think of another industry that has given me more pleasure (and pain) than the world of breeding and racing thoroughbreds.
Fifteen years ago I began my journey into this industry by breeding my own first horse who was my very first winner, not only of 7 races but also a winner in the city. To date I have now bred over 31 winning racehorses from my own non commercial broodmare band. Along with breeding with my own mares I have also stood stallions at stud and managed them for their owners.
From my hands-on experience rearing foals over that time I have since developed and currently co-ordinate a statewide service every breeding season matching up orphan foals with foster mares and vice versa. This service has also offered information to overseas breeders from enquiries coming from Ireland and America.
For over 12 years now I have been a member of Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria and along with my current colleagues on the board strive to achieve a better and more learned working industry for our members.
I wear many hats and another of these is buying and selling horses at sales and privately for my clients as well as devoting time each year to be a sitting member on the steering committee for a major TAFE training college for the training of students to study in the horse industry.
I have been most fortunate to meet and make good friends with people worldwide who share the same passion for thoroughbreds and horses in general as I do.
Hope you enjoy my story.
